Tumbling tops terrific performances at Russell House

Russell House pupils are representing the school and the county at national level in gym and cross country events in 2019.

Louis and Sammy both finished in the top 10 in the Year 6 boys race at the Kent Junior Schools Cross Country Championships held at Kent Showground in Detling.

Their performance, alongside that of teammate Joshua who secured a top 30 position, led Russell House to win the team event. In the Year 3 boys event, Harry came in second.

Louis and Sammy will both now compete at the national schools cross country championships on Saturday 23 March.

Another Russell House pupil is also preparing for a national competition. Xander qualified for the national finals after taking silver at the U11 South East Schools Tumbling Championships. The finals take place in May when Xander will represent Russell House as well as the South East Region.

Russell House U11A footballers also had a great season, remaining unbeaten in all their fixtures and with two tournament trophies under their belt. They won their first tournament of the season for the second year in a row and followed it up with a winning performance in a tournament at Sevenoaks School.

The final tournament of the season upset their winning streak with a loss in the quarter finals. They look back on a successful season and have now picked up their rugby boots for the spring term fixtures.
