Tipper and Fox shine for England U18’s

Louis Tipper and Ben Fox from Sevenoaks Hockey Club were in action last month for England U18 in the Six Nations which took place in Holland.

Ben played brilliantly, showing amazing consistency, fast hands and great awareness regardless of whether he was playing at full back or in a more advanced position.

Louis playing an expansive game, predominantly at the top end of the midfield. He scored his first international goal against Spain, to give England a 2-0 lead before getting pegged back in the fourth quarter. In addition he had four assists over the course of the week and created a hat-full of other chances with plenty of penetrating runs into the final quarter.

Louis & Ben both played in all of the fixtures and both had very good tournaments where they finished third in table, however this final standing probably did not reflect the quality of hockey played.

• Won 4-0 vs Ireland

• Drew 2-2 vs Spain

• Lost 2-3 vs Holland

• Won 1-0 vs Germany

• Drew 2-2 vs Belgium

Louis is back in pre-season training with the Sevenoaks Mens 1st team squad, but he will be heading to Hong Kong in September to play a season in the Hong Kong Premier League as the overseas player for HKFC. He will be missed by Sevenoaks but they wish him the very best of luck.

Ben will be playing another season for the Mens 1st XI, which is great news.

Sevenoaks Hockey Club are very proud of their players achievements over the summer and look forward to more of their players reaching England level.
