WBBL Championship: Essex Rebels 35 Sevenoaks Suns 93
Sevenoaks Suns got their WBBL Championship campaign off to the best possible start with an unproblematic 93-35 victory on the road against league newcomers, Essex Rebels.
The reigning Championship and Play-Offs winners wasted little time in showing their pedigree, controlling the tempo of the game from start to finish and the home side were simply unable to slow down the visitor’s array of offensive weaponry, conceding 20 or more points in each of the game’s four quarters.
Renee Busch led the Suns in scoring with a game-high 16 points, in what was a dominant display of team basketball. Jessica Good and Ta’yani Clark added 14 points and 13 points respectively.
The Suns were in a ruthless mood from the start, showing little mercy, they raced out to an early double-digit lead and steadily increased their advantage throughout the contest.
