Lottie to star for England U16s

Many Congratulations to HC Knole Park’s Lottie Bingham who has been selected to play for England U16s against Ireland next week in their February test matches at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

Lottie was selected for the England U16 training squad after the NAGs assessment camp in October half-term. Since then she’s gone from strength to strength. Top scorer for both the U14 Girls A-team and the Ladies 1st team, both of whom are top of the all their respective leagues, she is the leading light for the club and they couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.

She also spearheaded the club’s indoor campaign. Entering as an U14 team in the U16 competition was daunting enough, however Captain Lottie and the team were superb throughout taking on every challenge thrown at them.

She scored four goals as Knole Park won the Kent Cup, before top scoring at the East Finals where the team finished runners-up to Harleston Magpies. At the National Finals, Lottie was outstanding. Scoring 11 times as Knole Park won the group before playing Harleston once again in the National semi-final.

The girls just missing out in a crazy 5-6 loss, however for this young team, finishing third in England was an amazing achievement!

A statement from the club said: “Lottie’s contribution to hockey stretches beyond her amazing playing skills. She is actively involved in the club through the Young Leaders Programme. Lottie coaches the U8-U12s every Saturday morning before going off to her own matches. She is hugely popular, and the younger members absolutely love her! She truly is an inspiration to all at Knole Park!”.

“We wish Lottie all the best next week and hope that she really enjoys the experience of playing international hockey! Go Lots!!”
