Local karting enthusiast crowned British Champion

Sevenoaks District resident Danny Keirle has been racing karts since he was 10 years old and on Sunday evening he was crowned the 2017 Super One British Champion at the PFI karting circuit in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Danny won the championship through great consistency in all six rounds of the tournament, being in the top four in 11 out of 12 heats and even more notably top four in nine out of the 12 finals.

Winning this title will give Danny the exclusive use of the No 1 throughout the UK for the 2018 season, it also guarantees him a place at the IAME X30 World Finals to be raced at the fabled Le Mans Circuit in France this October.

Danny has a number of people on his team who he thanked on the evening: “Ross and Scott from Jade Karts of Edge Hill for their mechanical know how; and to Jade Engines for the speed to carry me to this fabulous result; and also to the legendary Terry Fullerton, who has won 1 World and 8 British championships, for his valuable input in my development and training“.

As a further result of his success in the UK, Danny has been offered a seat with the World famous Chiesa Corse team at the CIK/FIA World Championships to be held on September 20th-24th at the PFI venue, the only Kart Circuit in the UK to have International Accreditation. This is the biggest most prestigious event in World Karting and it is a measure of Danny’s talent that he has been given this opportunity.

Chiesa Corse team owner, Dino Chiesa has in the past looked after the early careers of many internationally known drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Lance Stroll and current hot property in motor racing Nyck De Vries.
