Len Busch named WBBL Coach of the Month for March

It’s been another highly productive few weeks for Sevenoaks Suns and the valuable input from play-caller Len Busch has been recognised after he was handed the Molten WBBL Coach of the Month accolade for March.

Busch led his team to a flawless 4-0 record during the period – starting off with a comfortable 54-70 league victory in the North-East against Durham Palatinates.

Part of a weekend double-header, Suns then went a little further up the A1 to Sport Central, where they were similarly dominant 53-77 against Team Northumbria.

Back on home soil, they made it a hat-trick of WBBL Championship wins by taking a hard fought 76-70 triumph against Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.

Then to round off a perfect March, the WBBL Trophy holders made it into the Semi-Finals of the competition by easing their way to a 62-42 success against South-East rivals, Oakland Wolves.

Suns then became the last team to seal their place in the last four of the WBBL Trophy as they defeated BA London Lions at the Sennocke Centre 72-56 on April 1st. They set up a showdown with Caledonia Pride as they claimed their second victory in the pool in what was the decider to progress.

WBBL Trophy Final
The Trophy Final will be played at the Cheshire Oaks Arena in Ellesmere Port on Saturday 14th April and should Sevenoaks progress with a win against Caledonia Pride then they will be rewarded with a tough encounter against either Leicester Riders or Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.

Gold Coast player
Sevenoaks Suns player Chantelle Pressley, 27, was selected by Team England to represent her country at the Commonwealth Games.

Pressley is currently in Townsville, Australia preparing for the preliminary Womens Basketball fixtures against Australia, Canada and Mozambique. England have been seeded, which means that if they finish in the top two they automatically go through to the semi finals, with the bottom two playing-off against the top two teams from the unseeded group.

We don’t see England, nor Pressley needing a play-off!
