It’s a flying start for Knole Park

HC Knole Park made history on Saturday when they played their first ever Ladies 1st team game against Tunbridge Wells 4th in the Kent Womens Outdoor League Division Six. With a mix of experienced and junior players, the Ladies team got off to a flying start.

First half goals from Anna Faulstich, Josefina Hippe and captain Ruth Bingham meant the team were in a commanding 3-0 lead at the break. Further goals from Phoebe Gough-Cooper, Grace Reeve, Faulstich, Lottie Bingham and two more from Ruth to complete her hat-trick meant the score was 9-0 going into the final seconds, before Tunbridge Wells scored a consolation goal.

The perfect start to the league campaign for HC Knole Park. Next week they face Blackheath at 4.15pm at Tonbridge School.

Under-12’s success at Surbiton tournament!
HC Knole Park’s under-12 girls started their junior season on Sunday at the Surbiton Hockey Club U12 Tournament. Surbiton fielded a number of teams and different challenges for the girls.

However, the team came through with flying colours and with five wins and a draw, they finished top of the tournament.

Goals were scored by six different players which was a remarkable effort; Lettie Hughes (3), Celia Foster (3), Phoebe Bright (2), Ines Gascoyne-Day (2) Betsy Burden (2) & Sara Friis.

Under-14 boys start with a tough friendly against Guildford
To finish the weekend’s fixtures, the under-14 boys set off to Guildford for a pre-season friendly ahead of their opening match next week. In an even start to the game the boys played very well and it was only 0-1 at the break.

However, a succession of counter-attack goals meant that they score got away from the team and despite a late rally the team couldn’t quite break the deadlock. Lots learnt in what was, for most, their first ever full pitch match.
