Sevenoaks came out on top with an impressive 83-64 win at home against arch rivals Leicester Riders on Saturday evening in their opening game of the WBBL Championship season.
The final match of last season saw Sevenoaks lift the Play-Off Trophy at The O2 in London, after beating Leicester 60-55, and in what could prove to be a crucial early victory against a tough title rival, the defending league champions were led by a game-high 23 points from Janice Monakana, alongside 20 points and 10 rebounds from Renee Busch and Ta’yani Clark’s six points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists.
Top scorers for Suns were Monakana (23), Busch (20) and Cat Carr (17).
Sevenoaks travel to Newcastle on Sunday to face the Eagles, tip-off is at 4.00pm and you should be able to watch the match online.
