HC Knole Park enjoy a wonderful weekend of hockey!

HC Knole Park’s U14A Girls continued their excellent start to the season in the South-East Tier 1 League with two wins against Guildford and Old Georgians. The girls made a fast start against Old Georgians as they went 3-0 in the first 10 minutes! Two goals from Boadicea Cannon and one from Georgina Hadden settled any early match nerves. Old Georgians scored on the break; however, it was once against Hadden who was on hand to score and make the half time score 4-1. In the second half it was a superb strike from Biba Mills that gave Knole Park the 5-1 victory.

In the second match the girls were once again quick to get going as Cannon scored a trademark penalty corner. Guildford scored on the break to make it 1-1, however Mills restored the lead just before half time with an excellent strike into the top corner after a mix up in the Guildford defence. The girls saved their best half for the final half as they scored twice more to make it 4-1. Celia Foster scored after a brilliant run from Ines Gascoyne-Day, before Cannon capped a fantastic day with her second of the match – a tremendous solo effort!

HC Knole Park’s U14A Boys were also in action, and they beat East Grinstead 3-2. Two strikes from Isaac Dale and a single from Oscar Osbaldeston was enough for the boys to seal the win and with it they have progressed to the South-East Finals at the end of November where they will face Canterbury, Guildford, and Old Georgians.

HC Knole Park’s U18A Girls were in sublime form as they produced some scintillating hockey to beat Aldershot HC 9-0. Amelie Allen opened the scoring after 4 minutes with a lovely deflection, before Sasha Kelbrick netted after a great run by Josefina Hippe. Elen Nicholls then scored two penalty corners, Betrys Galloni scored a brilliant strike from the top of the D and Hippe scored her own solo effort to make it 6-0 at half-time. The second half was equally superb however the Aldershot goalkeeper was in incredible form as she kept the score line down. Allen did however complete her hat-trick with two excellent finishes and Hippe scored her second of the match from a penalty corner to make the final score 9-0.

HC Knole Park’s U16A Girls received a walkover from East Grinstead.

HC Knole Park’s Men’s 1st Team learn from last week’s disappointment to produce their performance of the season!
HC Knole Park’s Men’s 1st team produced an amazing performance to win 7-0 against Ashford on Saturday. The team started well, and it was Duncan Parnis who scored from two penalty corners and one open play goal to get things going. Isaac Dale added a fourth just before half-time after eliminating several defenders and the Ashford goalkeeper to make it 4-0 at half-time. In the second half Ashford played much better, however the resolute defence of Steve Innes, David Gough-Cooper and Elisha Spickernell stood firm. A second half hat-trick of goals from Parnis took the game beyond Ashford and this win moves Knole Park into a more comfortable mid-table position. Next week the team travel to Herne Bay.
