Chipstead juniors celebrate fourth football tournament

On Saturday 22 August, Chipstead Junior Football Club hosted their fourth Mini Soccer Tournament in order to raise money for The Hospice in the Weald.

The tournament was run along a Champions League theme with teams participating in U6/7s, U8/9s and U10/11s age groups.

Parker Scooters kindly donated the top raffle prize of an Electric Scooter, along with many other prizes donated by Tower Sports, The Bricklayers Arms, Bojangles Coffee House and NextGen Football Academy. The football club provided all the trophies and their youth coaches gave up their free time to coach all the football teams on the day.

Chipstead also thanked Carlos from Knole Academy for donating the use of the 3G Pitch facility for the day.

Over 60 children took part with each year group playing a round of group stages before progressing to finals. The club would like to thank all the team, Steve Brightman, Jennifer Gillespie, Catherine O’Connell, Joffie Shea and referees James Davies, Archie Coquelin and Tony Shea, who generously gave up their time to run the event for another year raising funds for the Hospice. The event was started in memory of Sarah Reeves and the club hope to repeat this event again next year.
