Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming crowned double UK National Champions

Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming took gold in two categories at the 2022 National Swim England Artistic Swimming Combo Cup on July 3rd.

The Sevenoaks based club took the titles in the Division One 9-12 and 13-15 Years events. The first the team of Abigail White, Angelina Bezuidenhout, Betty Black, Fleur Kirk, Gemma Grobbelaar, Immy Brand, Lucy Sadler, Sarah Fitz-Gerald and Stanley Stiff took gold in the Division One 13-15 Year competition.

More success followed for Aquaoaks as their Division One 9-12 Years squad won gold in the final event of session 2. The team consisted of Ava Terry, Bonnie Campbell, Charlotte Ryan, Emily Newton, Evelyn Fornasier, Imogen Strand, Lauren Copp, Tabitha Tolhurst, Sofia Spencer and Zoë Moore.

Aquaoaks continued their impressive display in this year’s competition to finish second in the Division One 15-18 Years category.

The club had five teams competing in various divisions and age categories at the Olympic Aquatic Centre last weekend, and from a field of 36 clubs, Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming finished 4th in the overall UK league table.

Head Coach, Maisie Wright, said “It was an incredible weekend for the club, after launching just last October, it has been an outstanding first season for us, bringing home 150 gold medals in 2022. Finishing the season as National Champions in our division was more than I could have ever asked for. I’m still a little in shock to be honest! Overwhelmingly proud of each and every swimmer at Aquaoaks.”
