Selection for the West Kent SFA District Football Teams for Boys for the 2019-2020 Season has started.
West Kent SFA District is one of the most well organised and successful District sides in the South East of England. This has meant that talented players have had the opportunity to represent their district and play in the prestigious Kent Schools FA competitions and the English Schools National Competitions.
Over the last few seasons West Kent SFA district have been very successful. They have won the League, Kent Cup and got to many finals and their biggest success was reaching the South East regional finals in the English Schools FA 7-a-side competition.
West Kent SFA District are also proud to announce that over 40 players have gone on to represent the Kent County squad with Arthur Gregory from St Thomas’ in Sevenoaks selected this season alone.
Today, the Kent Schools’ Football Association is one of the strongest and most successful schools’ organisations in the country, that maintains the high standards and traditions set by those dedicated schoolmasters who established the Association, but at the same time keeps pace with the ever-changing educational scene, including being at the forefront of boys & girls football, to ensure that young footballers in Kent continue to enjoy the best that schools football has to offer.
The 1st round of trials will take place at two venues and then the best players from each venue will go through to the 2nd round of trials which will be involved over several weeks in the form of training sessions to identify the strongest players for the up and coming season.
There are 27 Sevenoaks District Schools affiliated this year, they are: Amherst, Chevening, Chiddingstone, Churchill, Dunton Green, Edenbridge, Fordcombe, Four Elms, Hever, Ide Hill, Kemsing, Lady Boswells, Leigh, New Beacon, Otford, Penshurst, Radnor House, St Johns, St Lawrence, St Michaels Prep, St Thomas, Seal, Sevenoaks Prep, Shoreham, Solefield, Sundridge & Brasted and Weald.
West Kent SFA District is the amalgamation of three areas, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.
