Sir Michael Fallon, Cllr Peter Fleming, District Council Chairman Cllr Pat Bosley, and Swanley Town Council CEO Steve Nash were all present on Sunday as Swanley Rugby Club launched their junior section to great fanfare.
Around 50 children turned up to take part in a series of drills and games led by Swanley RFC coaches and Nick Wilkinson from Sevenoaks RFC.
Sir Michael officially opened the event and said: “Getting youngsters involved in a club in the end is the lifeblood and the future of the club. It takes a huge effort to get children away from their machines so well done to you all and your parents for turning up today”.
