Swanley RFC are building their field of dreams

Swanley RFC are building on last years promotion into the Metropolitan Bishops Finger Merit League with another strong season.

Recent wins, five out of five, have seen them climb to second place in the league. With five games left to play, four of which are home games, they are feeling confident of a strong finish.

Having been defeated by Sittingbourne RFC in the quarter finals of the Kent Salver Cup, all effort is now being focused on a strong league finish.

The integration of new squad members this season allied with their new pitch at the Old Hextable School playing fields appears to be paying dividends.

Spectators are always welcome and fixture details can be found at www.swanleyrfc.co.uk.

Off the pitch Swanley have signed up to North West Kent Grass Roots Rugby Forum. The organisation consists of similar sized clubs looking to promote grass roots rugby through involving the local community, finding funding opportunities and cross club cooperation.

With this in mind Swanley, are now looking at the formation of a walking rugby team for the more mature (over 50) players.

This is a mixed sex sport with no contact designed to promote fitness and provide a fun social scene.

Contact details can be found through their website at www.swanleyrfc.co.uk for anyone that may be interested.
