Sevenoaks Suns fought back in a blistering second half display at the Sennocke Centre on Sunday afternoon to secure their place in the semi-finals of this years WBBL Trophy.
With one game in hand, to be played on Sunday night against Essex Rebels, Sevenoaks topped their group and can now look forward to a repeat of last year’s showpiece final as they will travel to Leicester Riders over the weekend of February 23/24.
They turned up the dial in their south-east derby clash with Lions and Renee Busch was the difference after she dropped five triples for a total of 17 points.
Lions had held Suns to just 13 points in the first period, however they let the game get away from them as they gave up 28 points in a fateful third quarter.
Sevenoaks came out a different team after the break and their opponents couldn’t cope with the intensity that was being cranked up. Leading scorers for Suns were Jess Good (19), Busch (17) and Janice Monakana (15).
