Sevenoaks Suns keep their 100% league record intact after surviving on the road

The Sevenoaks Suns returned to action in the WBBL Championship on Saturday with a hard fought win on the road against Caledonia Pride, keeping their 100% league record going.

The visitors trailed for the majority of the second half, but produced a strong finish with Cat Carr starring in the victory.

Pride controlled the middle periods of the game as they held the league leaders to 20 points, but a tense finale ensued with both teams trading the lead in the final quarter. Carr broke a 56-56 tie with 1:10 to go and then went one of two from the line late on with Julia Koppl’s offensive board sealing the victory.

While their offence struggled in the second and third quarters, Sevenoaks executed when it mattered and with 20 points in the fourth, they matched their combined total from those middle periods.

Cat Carr was the game hero as she finished one assist shy of an impressive triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists as well as the go-ahead basket to help the Suns to victory.

Leading scorers for the Suns: Cat Carr 17, Judit Fritz 13, Chantelle Pressley 12
