Sevenoaks strengthen on Pink Day for the club

Frankie Sawyer got the winner as Sevenoaks Town claimed the points in a tight duel.

Mayor Roddy Hogarth and Pink Week organiser Stephanie Harrison were guests on the club’s Charity Day, with more than £800 raised for Breast Cancer Care.

Top scorer Sawyer struck on 27 minutes to score his 11th of the season, and stretch Oaks’ unbeaten run to five games to sit 12th in the Bostik League South East table.

Will Johnson-Cole laid the ball back to Sawyer whose low shot took a deflection  before beating visiting goalkeeper Sam Mott.

United made the better start with Lea Dawson, Matt Day and Tom Carlse all going close inside the opening 10 minutes.

Sam Corne missed out with a far post header early in the second half, but United continued to put Oaks under pressure with goalkeeper Ben Bridle Card’s handling against impressive.

Oaks survived and might have grabbed a late second on the break, but Mott blocked Johnson-Cole’s effort in stoppage-time.

Boss Micky Collins introduced his three new signings Ainsley Everett, David Smith and Xavier Vidal off the bench in the last half hour.
