Dear reader,

Well that was a pretty hot summer by all accounts! The cricket season has just finished and we have put together our own round-up of events on the crease as we say farewell for now to an old friend.

But as in life, old friends will always return and it’s time we welcomed back Rugby, Football, Hockey and Basketball this month.

We report on Sevenoaks Swimming Club as they took on the nation and won, plus Sevenoaks Town FC enjoy a mixed start to their campaign as they progressed in two cups but find themselves stuttering along in their new Bostik League.

Ex-Chelsea player Scott Minto pays a visit to Ide Hill FC to reopen their clubhouse after it suffered storm damage earlier in the year and we take a trip with Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club as they tell us all about their history.

We are pleased to be able to sponsor the Sevenoaks Town FC Man of the Match award for the season. Here’s Kenny Pogue getting his hands on the sought after prize after the defeat to Hastings United.

Sevenoaks Rugby Club have started the season in top gear and we take a look at their training regime which has definitely already given them the edge over their rivals.
Working with Parents in Sport founder, Gordon MacLelland is back with a piece titled ‘A Greater Game -bigger than sport itself’.

We have our regular contributors from The Health Boost and The Better Body Group, as they share their top tips on fitness and nutrition. Plus we attend the Sevenoaks District Sports Council presentation evening where a number of local athletes and clubs are rewarded after obtaining grants.

Finally, thank you to all of you who voted for us in the Sevenoaks Business Awards, we will let you know how we get on in next month’s issue.

Kind regards,
