Sevenoaks Rugby Club host schools festival at The Paddock

Nineteen primary schools in the Sevenoaks District turned out for the annual tag rugby festival at Sevenoaks Rugby Club in May.

The festival, organised by The Knole Sports Partnership and Sevenoaks Rugby Club, is primarily focused on getting children involved with rugby and to encourage fair play amongst the other competitors and fellow pupils.

The schools entered a total of 32 teams to compete in this 7-a-side tournament held at Knole Paddock, with the ethos on not necessarily winning but competing in a friendly and composed atmosphere.

The results did not reflect the eventual winners, as each team had to have a minimum of three girls, which were then rewarded with bonus points.

• Plate: Ightham 2nd
• Bowl: Amherst 2nd

• Tankard: Seal

Golden tickets were also handed out on the day to players who showed great spirit, the most tickets were won by St Thomas’ 2nd.
