Get into gear with free cycle rides from Sevenoaks District Council

Sevenoaks District Council’s ever popular professionally-led cycle rides return this summer with a focus on building up confidence on two wheels.

The rides are specifically for people who are new to cycling, haven’t been on a bike in a while or simply lack confidence.

The cycling sessions are open to all, especially families with small children and take place in Knole Park and the Brands Hatch racing track.

Knole Park offers a 90-minute, gentle paced ride with breaks and traffic free paths in the stunning ancient deer park.

Brands Hatch provides an opportunity to ride on the renowned racing circuit for up to two hours at no set pace and includes some gentle hills.

Cllr Robert Piper, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Health, says: “These bicycle rides are perfect for first time cyclists or people who want to get back into the sport but have lost their confidence.”

Cllr Piper adds “Both sessions are in great locations and the professionals are on hand to help you all the way.”

The rides are taking place on:

  • Sunday 23th June, 10.30am @ Knole Park
  • Sunday 21st July, 10.30am @ Knole Park
  • Monday 29th July, 10.30am and 2pm @ Brands Hatch
  • Sunday 11th August, 10.30am @ Knole Park
  • Wednesday 14th August, 10.30am and 2pm @ Brands Hatch
  • Sunday 8th September, 10.30am @ Knole Park
