Four golds at Kent Schools’ Relay Swimming Championships

The Swim team of Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Sevenoaks dominated the field at the Kent Secondary Schools’ Relay Championships in Medway Park, Gillingham on Saturday 16th September.

Wally Hall swimmers competed in all available events, 6 in total, and their performances were outstanding across the board with the girls finishing within the top 3 places in each event. Races were often decided by a fraction of a second and Walthamstow Hall collected Gold medals in 4 events, 1 Silver and a Bronze.

The results were as follows:
Gold Medallists in the Junior Girls 200 metre Freestyle Relay Team and Silver Medallists in the Junior Girls 200 metre Medley Relay Team. Medals went to: Imogen Stoddart, Mimi Vorster, Eleanor Donne and Isabelle Mackenzie.
Gold Medallists in the Intermediate Girls 200 metre Freestyle Relay Team. Medals went to: Edith Norton, Zoë Naylor-Perrott, Lilie Chambers and Amelia Childs.
Gold Medallists in the Intermediate Girls 200 metre Medley Relay Team. Medals went to: Katie Vowell, Amelia Childs, Lilie Chambers and Zoë Naylor-Perrott.
Gold Medallists in the Senior Girls 200 metre Freestyle Relay Team and Bronze Medallists in the Senior Girls 200 metre Medley Relay Team. Medals went to: Bethany Hook, Poppy Holmes, Emma Evans-Wilson and Isabella Childs.

The impressive times posted on Saturday should put Walthamstow Hall in a strong position for English Schools’ qualification. This will be apparent in the next few weeks once all results have been submitted from the other county competitions across England.

Walthamstow Hall Headmistress, Mrs Jill Milner congratulated the girls and their coach, Mr Richard Smith, on their superb performance saying, ‘It is fantastic to see such strength right across our swimming squad, especially in these relay events where the girls’ team work, mutual support and camaraderie are so vital. I am very proud of our Senior School swimmers and indeed the very strong Junior School team following in their wake.’
