Chipstead Football Club were victorious in the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup on Saturday defeating Wateringbury 4-3 away with goals from Jack Highwood, Bradley Setters, Chris Steadman and substitute David Milton.

Otford United meanwhile were unable to beat Club Langley at home in the same competition. The match went into extra-time at two apiece, however the visitors broke the Otford defence for the decisive goal despite finishing with 10-men.

Sevenoaks Town started the new year with their first win in the Bostik League since December 1st. Having lost their last two matches 1-0 over the festive period, Town were able to turn the tables on their hosts, Herne Bay, as Frankie Sawyer scored a 96th minute penalty to win the match 2-1.

Ide Hill missed the chance to climb back to the top of the Kent County League Division One West after a hard fought draw against a strong 3rd placed Sydenham Sports. Matt Bunn had got Hill off to a flyer after 10 minutes, however Sydenham managed to get an equaliser on the hour to give both teams a well deserved point.

The Sevenoaks and District League also kicked off 2019 with a number of teams taking part in the Kent Junior Cup. Kemsing United hosted a team called ‘Mackland Arms’ finally going out 2-3. Eynsford, also at home, entertained Red Velvet ‘A’, but couldn’t manage to get on the score sheet and lost 0-4. Ide Hill Reserves meanwhile travelled to Ashford to meet Fox Saturday, and in an enthralling match they came out 6-4 winners to make the quarter-finals for the first time.

In the Premier League, St Lawrence held league leaders Potters to a 1-1 draw whilst second placed Leigh struggled in a 3-3 draw away at bottom club Woodlands.

In Division one, Otford United Reserves went top of the table after beating Halls AFC Reserves 3-2. Swanley Oaks drilled five past Westerham only letting one in at the other end. In Division Two, Seal beat Boro Lane 4-2, consolidating their mid-table position. In Division Four, Westerham Reserves lost to Penshurst Park 5-1 at home and Wilderpark Reserves lost 1-0 at home to Horsmonden.
