Are you ready for the 12th annual Sevenoaks Rotary Club’s 10K run?

The Rotary Club of Sevenoaks, its Satellite Rotary Club and the Friends of Shelby Newstead would like to invite you to the 12th annual Sevenoaks Rotary 10K and 1.5K Fun Run on Sunday 8th April, 2018.

This year, they are proud to welcome Dame Kelly Holmes who will join the runners on the day and present prizes. Lord Sackville will start the 10K at 11.00am, with the Fun Run starting at 10.15am. The event is family friendly and spectators are encouraged to go along to watch and support from the many viewing points.

As in previous years, the 10K Run will again use computer based Chip timing to record runners’ times and calculate their positions. There is always keen competition from a number of both local and more distant Athletic Clubs for the Team Prizes. There will be special medals for all runners who finish, and prizes for the first three men and women’s individuals, and teams, plus the first three in the 1.5K Fun Run. Water and bananas will be provided for all participants.

This year, Better Body Group, Crowe Clark Whitehill, Knocker & Foskett, Up & Running (Sevenoaks), Ibbett Mosely, and Happen Web Technologies are the main sponsors. The grounds of Knole Park are used by kind permission of Lord Sackville and the National Trust.

Again this year, their aim is to raise as much money as possible for organisations that provide services including those for seriously ill children, mental health in West Kent, bereavement support for young people, and ShelterBox in support of those made homeless by natural disaster and conflict. We are pleased to partner with Friends of Shelby Newstead who help children and their families affected by serious illness. Many runners choose to support other charities with additional sponsorship from friends.
